Allow God to use you

Miriam was privileged to attend a Sunday school retreat for her Church at Sea Breeze Resort this month.

In her message during the Sunday service, she shared about entering the presence of the Lord through prayer allowing God to use us as children’s workers to lay our hands on the children for blessings and healing.
This she passed on after the Lord spoke to her through a servant of the Lord, David Cote of Church of Living Waters.  Through him the Holy Spirit inspired her to listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit and also take opportunities to lay hands on the sick especially in ministry to Children.

Miriam has seen the need to influence leaders and children workers to emulate Jesus and learn to lay healing hands on the physically and emotionally sick in faith through gifting of the Holy Spirit. She challenged the M.P.C Children’s workers to take every opportunity in the presence of the Lord to lay healing hands on the children. As the word of God says we are priests unto God and he who began a good work in us will bring it to the finish.

It’s Miriam’s desire to give input and encouragement to the teachers and children in partnership with God.

2012 Mid-Year Report
We thank God for the privilege to become His ambassadors to the children in East Africa and beyond.
Training and Follow-up since last report

Nepal:
We are grateful that there are continuing good reports from the Sharansthan  Church in Kathmandu.  God is using Children’s ministry to grow the church there.  Regularly we see photos and obtain reports of outreaches to children in the community.  Miriam and Margaret were to return this year to do further training, but, due to changes in the Seminary, it was not possible at this stage. {please check facebook: Sharansthan Children Church}

Zambia:  Sept 2011, March  & May 2012:
We appreciate that Miriam had the opportunity to partner with Petra and Hands at Work in mentoring Hands at Work personnel in Zambia.  Through mentorship courses that Miriam has been involved in facilitating in Zambia, leaders who have now been trained to train others have gone back to their countries to do trainings on their own hence reducing the cost of training and reaching out to incredible number of children in their countries.  Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Nigeria and Kenya were represented in the trainings. This has empowered Miriam to return to Kenya to impact and influence our processes of training in Kenya and beyond.  We thank Petra College(www.petra.co.za) for their continuous support in equipping and mentoring Miriam for the purpose of mentoring and training Children’s Workers to lift children to their God-given potential.

Kenya Churches:
We appreciate the relationships that God has allowed Afri-Lift to have with many and various denominations and organizations within East Africa.   We continue to train Children’s Workers from Church of Christ, Eldoret, various churches in Kitale as well as Challenge Farm staff (www.challengefarm.org)   Three pastors who are key leaders in charge of the AIC department of children’s ministry in Magumu have completed the foundation courses and are enrolled in our Tutors course in July so that they can train their own workers.

Kakuma Interdenominational Churches, both in and out of the refugee camp continue to be impacted by Petra training with Edith Kathure who has worked for many years.  There are now students there ready to join the tutors’ classes.  Also children’s workers from Mombasa where we have trained for 4 years are ready and have the potential to train others.
